Traditional metal stamping has been part of my jewelry making since the very beginning.
Over the years, I’ve tried different techniques. I’ve even made a small number of soldered rings, and I truly appreciate the craftsmanship behind them.
But somehow, I always come back to traditional metal stamping.
There’s just something about it that I love.
It’s a little raw. A little rustic. And perfectly imperfect.

Instead of using a machine to create the exact same design every time, I use traditional metal stamps and stamp each image into the metal by hand, one at a time.
That means the placement might be slightly different. One flower might sit a little deeper than another. A design may have tiny variations from piece to piece.
And honestly?
That’s exactly what I love about it.
Made by Hand, Not Made to Look Perfect
Today, it’s easy to find jewelry with beautifully precise laser-engraved designs. They’re clean, consistent, and perfectly matched.
And please forgive me if you love them. 😂
They’re beautiful too — they’re just not what I personally fell in love with making.
I love seeing the marks left behind by traditional tools.
I love knowing that I physically picked up a tiny metal stamp, positioned it, struck it by hand, and created that little flower or image directly in the metal.
There’s no “undo” button.
And no two pieces will ever be exactly the same.
Why I’ve Stayed With It
After all these years, traditional metal stamping is still one of my favorite parts of making jewelry.
Maybe because it feels harder to find now.
Maybe because I love its rustic, handmade character.
Or maybe I’m just a little old-fashioned when it comes to jewelry making.
Whatever the reason, I’ve stuck with it.
It has become part of the look and personality of my jewelry — especially my hand-stamped birth flower jewelry, where I can arrange different flowers together and create something personal for each family and each story.
Every piece carries tiny signs that a real person made it.
To me, those little differences aren’t flaws.
They’re the beauty of handmade jewelry.
So if you love traditional metal stamping, rustic details, perfectly imperfect designs, and jewelry that doesn’t look like it came straight from a machine…
you’re in the right place.
